Sarasota, FL/Chevy Chase, MD

A1034, 42, D, Technical and Grant Writer.

Four Quartets, T.S. Eliot--The Palm at the End of the Mind, Wallace Stevens--Personae, Ezra Pound--The Golden Notebook, Doris Lessing-- Pat Barker's Regeneration series-- Democracy, Joan Didion-- The Book of Common Prayer, Joan Didion-- The Fire Next Time, James Baldwin-- Nobody Knows My Name, James Baldwin-- Hamlet and King Lear.

What's On My Night stand:--Gilead, by Marilynne Robinson.

Favorite Authors: T.S. Eliot, Wallace Stevens, Ezra Pound, Emily Dickinson, Joan Didion, James Baldwin, Doris Lessing, Pat Barker, Tennessee Williams, Shakespeare, many more.

Personality: Very playful and mischievous. Very much enjoy verbal and physical play. This is an essential and very important part of my character. I'm an introverted person who is often mistaken for an extrovert. I am very warm and friendly. I like to listen and hear people's stories, whether they are people I know or people I meet at work or on a bus or train or through volunteer work. The introverted part comes in because I am very reflective -- I love to think about things, turn things over in my mind from various angles; I like to try to figure things out. I enjoy subtlety and complexity. I do need down time every day; this I accomplish through a daily walk and jog and by spending an hour or so reading something each evening. Very independent, but also love living with a mate and sharing dinners and thoughts with friends. Love dogs (all animals generally, but dogs in particular). I'm particularly beholden to German Shepards, and though I don't have one now, I will at some point in the future when I have the appropriate time and location for it. I also very much enjoy children and am very good with them. I would still like to have children if my mate would like them too. If he already has kids, I would welcome the opportunity to be a part of their lives; if he doesn't, it would be nice to try to have a child biologically or to foster or adopt one or two in 2-4 years. If the right man for me does not want children, I could live with that, but children are definitely preferred if we both want them. If you like brainy, sexy, warm and playful, I may just be the one for you. :-)
